Add an effects module or sampler

In order to plug an effects module into a basic mixer, unplug the lead from AMP OUTPUT of your mixer and plug into LINE OUTPUT of the effects module. You then plug from AMP OUTPUT of mixer to LINE INPUT of effects module. The effects module will now work on whatever is coming out of the mixer.

Add an effects module or sampler

In order to plug an effects module into a mixer which has SEND and RETURN sockets, you plug from SEND on the mixer to LINE INPUT of the effects module, then LINE OUTPUT of the effects module to RETURN on the mixer. Mixers which have SEND and RETURN will have a switch on each channel enabling the effects module to work.
