The latest edition of the award winning music software, Live 8 takes the creative scope of music production, performance and Djing to a whole new level. Building on all the previous editions and developments, Live 8 gives users a fluid working interface, with amazing midi and audio production editing and performance capabilities. Famed for its audio warping, Ableton Live software will analyse any audio file loaded into it. It will then allow you to warp (time-stretch) the file to whatever bpm you need - perfect for effortless Djing, remixing and editiing. Live 8 allows you to edit sections of the audio with the warp editor, allowing you maintain perfectly matched clip tempos, but drag forward, or backwards, any part of the sample. For instance, you can move snares around drum loops, move vocals around and spread bass riffs, all without editing the audio first and with a non-destructive effect on your audio files. A new looping function allows simple, but incredible auto looping of samples and recordings. Completely midi mappable, the loop function means you can be a one man band, or amazing loops sample artist at the press of a button. With all of these capabilities available on-the-fly, remixing, editing, mash-ups and layered creative Djing has never been easier or more effective. Versatile audio interface set-up options means with a compatible interface, you can route audio to two independent outputs, perfect for dj style monitoring. Further to the amazing audio capabilities, the recording suite allows multi-track recording up to 32-bit/192khz and complete non-destructive editing with unlimited undo, so your creativity is not restricted by errors. A comprehensive selection of built-in audio effects, including a host of creative delays, filters, distortions, studio compressors and eqs provide all the processing you need for on the fly performance and sound shaping. Not one to be left behind other computer music studio programs, Ableton live 8 also includes built-in software instruments, including 'simpler' for creative sample-based synthesis and 'impulse' for sampled drum, it even supports vst and au effects and instruments. It stands toe to toe with many other music production suites, yet Live really comes into it's own with it's live capabilities. Everything is done in real-time, with no processing periods, or loading times - live means live. A simple midi learn function allows you to control pretty much any parameter with any midi controller device. Whether it's keys for your instruments, or faders for your mix levels, or the customisable crossfader, everything can be controlled by your chosen hardware.
